The Glass Shield. Charles Burnett. 1994. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Visual Style is off the fucking chain.. colors, composition, camera movement (or non-movement), everything. Writing feels clipped but works. Don't often see movies about a corrupt system, that is ultimately about how, the most sympathetic actor within said system, has to own up to how he, too, was corrupt, and move on, and grow. Incredible tableau of myriad racisms JJ faces but he's never portrayed as without agency.
