Beirut. Brad Anderson. 2017. ⭐️⭐️
Has an okay Casablanca homage thing going on that gives way to a run-of-the-mill Middle Eastern milieu geopolitical thriller. Making a guy who doesn't kill with guns The Sympathetic Westerner is a nice trick but unfortunately all the Muslim characters have, at best, half a dimension. Should've been all Mason and Karim instead it's a bunch of spook dickheads. That this nears exemplary for its genre is a sad as fuck.
