Eighth Grade. Bo Burnham. 2018. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lushly portrays a life that doesn't actually exist. Napoleon D > 8th Grade cuz Napoleon doesn't front like it's "REAL" + actually does a multi-dimensional portrayal of awkward adolescence. That said, the sex stuff works, as does the more earnest father/daughter shit. The father/daughter stuff that's gag-oriented is junk. Also, why does a movie so disinterested in narrative end with a corny self-actualization arc?
